code for sustainable homes assessments

ECUS' team of licensed Code for Sustainable Homes Assessors offer a flexible support package enabling you to meet the Code level that you aspire to, or the level which your client requires you to achieve. We offer a cost effective, pragmatic and reliable support service, working together with our clients to ensure the most appropriate Code categories are selected and to ensure the maximum credits are achieved for each development.

Sustainability is now firmly established as a key concept in all areas business and development, and construction is no exception. The Code for Sustainable Homes, became mandatory for all new homes constructed from May 2008. The aim of the Code is to provide a high level of environmental protection by constructing homes which have been built with sustainability in mind for all areas.

As we are a multidisciplinary consultancy, our Code services range from carrying out full Code assessments, to providing support and consultancy on individual elements to gain credits (in particular categories 4 in relation to surface water and 9 in relation to ecology). As we have a number of key specialists within our organisation and as ECUS works closely with a number of high quality Associates, we are able to provide cost effective, coordinated support to our clients.

ECUS’ approach to carrying out an assessment is broken down into the following steps:

Initial meeting
Workshop
Pre-assessment summary
Register the development
Data collection, collation and analysis
Interim client progress meeting
Design stage report
Post construction site visit
Post construction report
Code certificate issued
