environmental management systems
Our friendly and efficient team of qualified consultants are highly experienced in EMS development and implementation. We provide an array of support services enabling any business, regardless of size or sector, to create a simple but effective Environmental Management System (EMS) which will meet the requirements of your own in-house system or one of the three key EMS standards:
- ISO14001;
- BS8555 and/or;
- EMAS.
Our EMS development approach is entirely flexible and we provide as much or as little support as you require. ECUS can either develop your entire EMS, or can simply provide guidance and advice throughout the system development process. We have EMS templates and toolkits readily available, EMS training packages and motivational trainers, along with a comprehensive legal compliance service.
In addition to our ongoing guidance and advice, we are able to offer any combination of the EMS support services listed below:

- Identification and prioritisation of environmental aspects;
- Assessment of applicable legislation and full legal compliance review
- Annual legal updates;
- Setting EMS objectives, targets and management programmes;
- EMS documentation: drafting all system procedures, all EMS documents, forms and work instructions.

What our clients say...
"We've recently implemented an Environmental Management System and I would really recommend it to any company looking to take their environmental responsibilities seriously, or who are interested in making sure they are running as efficiently as possible.
We used a local company, ECUS, to help us design and implement our system and they have been fantastic. They helped us to establish how our company was impacting on the environment and worked with us to develop objectives and targets to improve our environmental performance.
With ECUS' help we developed a much better understanding of environmental legislation and the ways in which it affects our business. Now we can be 100% sure we're dealing with all our waste, from office toner to fluorescent bulbs in the correct way - you'd be amazed how easy it is not to be!
We're well on our way to being ISO14001 accredited, which is great for the environment and for us. Not only does that help us to attract new business from like-minded companies, but it also means we've made savings on our utility bills, by taking a much more careful look at how we do things."
