ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS: ISO 14001/BS8555

ECUS Environmental Management are experts at helping organisations implement Environmental Management Systems [EMS]. ECUS has a range of comprehensive EMS implementation services to suit companies of all sizes and budgets.

ISO 14001 SYSTEMS:

We have developed a rigorous and user-friendly system to meet all the requirements of both ISO14001:2004. The ECUS approach is to provide a complete, phased implementation service for clients, but we recognise that our clients have different resources available to devote to the project.

Our service has the following core features as standard:

  • A thorough site audit followed by the production of a client-specific aspects register (loaded onto our unique EMS Management Tool) and legal register;
  • ECUS' 3-day IEMA Approved EMS Training course;
  • Provision of training materials;
  • Our complete EMS template; and,
  • ECUS' expert guidance throughout the implementation process.

IN-HOUSE EMS:

ECUS also offers a compact EMS designed to provide a simpler system than ISO 14001, which still ensures peace of mind and an effective system of managing environmental risks on site. This COMPACT system can be extended to meet the requirements of ISO 14001 at a later stage if required. This service also gives clients a demonstrable programme of effective environmental management should they be receiving pressure from their supply chain.

It includes the following key features:

  • A thorough site audit followed by the production of a client-specific aspects register (loaded onto our unique EMS Management Tool) and register of legal compliance;
  • The production of an environmental policy statement specific to the client;
  • ECUS' compact system template;
  • 12-month access to telephone / e-mail consultancy support from ECUS (½ day of support).

ECUS has been conducting environmental reviews and audits of organisations for over 19 years. The scope of the review can be as broad or as narrow as your requirements: from initial environmental reviews of entire organisations to waste compliance audits, feasibility studies and odour reviews.

LEGAL COMPLIANCE SERVICES

ECUS produces a bespoke Register of Environmental Legislation for all our EMS implementation customers, however we also offer this as a stand alone service. The register fulfills all the requirements of ISO 14001: 1996 and ISO 14001: 2004 and details how the organisation complies with all applicable environmental legislation.

The report is split into 4 sections for each item of legislation applicable to the organisation:

  • General requirements and useful information;
  • How each piece of legislation specifically applies to your organisation;
  • A 5-point compliance rating;
  • A listing of your organisation's environmental aspects.

Typical costs: £1100.00 + vat dependent upon the size and complexity of the organisation

WASTE MANAGEMENT LICENCE APPLICATIONS

A complete waste management licence and exemption licence application service is available from ECUS. The service is flexible dependant on your needs, however we can undertake the following for your organsiation:

  • The preparation of a detailed site risk assessment;
  • The preparation of a working plan to the Environment Agency's requirments;
  • The collation / preparation of supporting documentation;
  • The completion of the application form for submission.
