Funding available for manufacturing companies!
ECUS has been approved to work closely with the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) in providing part-funded, practical environmental support to manufacturing companies in Yorkshire and the Humber.

This subsidised support provides manufacturing companies with the opportunity to take significant steps towards improving environmental performance, realising cost savings, meeting client requirements and increasing competitive advantage in the supply chain.

ECUS has found that despite the recession, environmental and sustainability issues remain high on the agenda of the manufacturing sector in the UK. Increasingly stringent environmental legislation, supply chain pressures, rising energy and waste disposal costs are leading many companies to review their environmental impact and make commitments to improve performance. ECUS’ environmental management team are keen to help companies in the region access this support and take advantage of what is a highly cost effective initiative.

For those companies that are taking this first step, the benefits are immediately recognisable. Ian Garwood, Systems Co-ordinator at Loadhog Limited in Sheffield, has been working with ECUS and benefiting from the subsidised support. Ian said “resource efficiency is key to successful and competitive manufacturing companies and the expert support from ECUS and the MAS funding has helped us to work more swiftly towards improving our environmental performance and saving cash as a direct result”.

The part-funded MAS support includes opportunities for a one day review or a more significant environmental manufacturing improvement project together with environmental training. The support can help companies to work towards increasing resource efficiency, achieving a formal Environmental Management System and also offers opportunities for staff to gain professional qualifications.
