August 9, 2017

Our Consultant Arboriculturist, Zoe Wareham, is once again using her project management skills to organise the 13th Pilsley Fell Race for an estimated 300 runners in aid of Pilsley C of E Primary School.

The 2017 Pilsley Fell Race will be held on 24 August and is 6 miles with a huge 245 meter ascent, but to make that less painful for the hardy runners there is some fantastic scenery to take in around the wonderful Chatsworth Park.  Some might describe this as a gruelling 6 miles, others describe it as a nice quick circular route where nothing is so steep you can’t run it. Suffice to say, Ecus Geoscientist Andrew Lake won the V40 class last year, and another Ecus Consultant Arboriculturist “hated every minute of it” but still wanted to do it a third time!  This is what the elevation of the course looked like in 2015 and rumor has it that it maybe slightly harder this year!

All the funding goes to Pilsley C of E School PTA  (Friends of Pilsley School). The school is expected to be spending the funds on upgrading IT, funding general resources across the school and topping up the new ‘Major Projects’ account which might be working towards an ‘outdoor classroom’.

Registration for the race from 6pm on Pilsley Village green. There is a £5 entry fee on the night & to help the speed of the registration process you can pre-fill your forms in here: Race Entry Form 2017 – Pilsley Fell Race
