BREEAM Ecology and Code for Sustainable Homes

Ecus Ecology provide specialist support and advice to help our clients achieve their desired number of credits under the Buildings Research Establishment (BRE) Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH) and BREEAM schemes.

All our consultant ecologists are Suitably Qualified Ecologists (SQE) as defined by the BRE.

Our site visits and purpose designed CfSH and BREEAM reports comply with the requirements of these schemes and enable us to provide cost effective and targeted evaluation and recommendations for each site we assess.

Ecology and landscape design for BREEAM and CfSH schemes forms a core part of our business and our wealth of experience includes numerous CfSH (and its precursor EcoHomes) assessments of private residential and social housing schemes, along with assessments of all the BREEAM building types including retail, offices, education, healthcare, prisons and bespoke developments.

We recognise that the credits available for ecology and landscaping can be critical in achieving a desired rating and work closely with our in-house landscape team or the client’s own landscape architect to help achieve a scheme design that will deliver biodiversity benefits as required under the scheme.  We work closely with the developer and their project teams to maximize their credit gain.

We can also carry out full BREEAM assessments and are able to provide you with the support you need form the earliest stages of your development through to post construction  to ensure you meet your targeted BREEAM rating.
