Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDs)

Well designed Sustainable Urban Drainage systems (SUDs) can minimise the risk of flooding and pollution on surface water drainage as a result of development.

Ecus Landscape work with civil engineers to design attenuation and storage with the aim of improving local environmental quality. Well designed schemes that include wetland landscapes, swales, ponds and lakes can improve the quality of life for local communities and provide valuable habitats for biodiversity.

Designs of multi-functional landscapes can include basins or low lying areas that temporarily flood and slow down the rate of surface water run-off to manage rainwater as close to its source as possible. Similarly green roofs which are covered with vegetation and soil can reduce run-off and subsequently relieve the pressure on drainage systems, particularly at times of high intensity rainfall.

If you would like more information about any of these services either give our landscape team a call or make an enquiry.
