ECUS IEMA APPROVED EMS (Environmental Management System) IMPLEMENTATION COURSE (3 day)  

Introduction to the Course:

This 3 day IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) approved EMS implementation course gives delegates all the information and tools necessary to implement an EMS to the specification of ISO 14001: 2004. Our IEMA registered professionals are experts at helping companies implement ISO 14001 and it is this experience that forms the basis for this easy to understand and practical training course. The course is delivered at ECUS' offices in Sheffield as a mix of presented sessions and practical exercises in a staged and chronological manner so that delegates can follow the implementation of ISO 14001 from start to finish.

ECUS has been delivering this IEMA approved course for six years. Each year the course goes through an independent approval process by IEMA to ensure continuing high standards. Our IEMA Assessor for 2004-2005 had these comments regarding the course: "This course is particularly well delivered and presented, meeting all the IEMA requirements". The course includes the following:

  • Detailed course notes with action plans at the end of each stage;
  • Copies of the slides used in the sessions;
  • A copy of ECUS' computer based EMS Management Tool PDF file - requires Adobe Acrobatsoftware;
  • A CD-ROM containing useful information to help you implement ISO 14001;
  • Refreshments and lunches throughout the duration of the course.

ECUS EMS INTERNAL AUDITOR COURSES (1 or 2 day course available)  

Introduction to the Courses:

ECUS has developed two practical training courses on EMS Internal Auditing: a 1 day and a 2 day course. Both courses can be delivered at your premises at your convenience. The 2 day course is also available as a scheduled course delivered at ECUS' offices in Sheffield.

The courses are a blend of presented sessions and practical group and individual exercises. Both courses provide a comprehensive training package on how to internally audit an EMS to the requirements of ISO 14001:2004, but contain differing levels of detail to reflect the levels of prior experience that delegates bring to the course.

Course Details:

The 1 day course is suitable for those trainee auditors who have some experience of auditing management systems (e.g. quality or health and safety) but do not have the specific experience of auditing ISO 14001 systems or need some refresher training in the subject.

The 2 day course provides a more detailed training package which includes all the tools and training a novice auditor needs to effectively conduct internal audits of their organisation's EMS to the requirements of ISO 14001.

The 1 day course:
We charge flat rate fee, so as not to discourage the company from having a number of staff trained as internal EMS auditors. We only ask that a maximum of ten trainees attend each group. ECUS course tutors are experienced EMS practitioners and are registered IEMA Environmental Professionals. Course prices are as follows:

1 day course: £695 (excluding VAT, travel and subsistence at cost) for up to 8 delegates

ECUS INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND ISO 14001 (1 day)
 

Introduction to the Course:

This course serves as an excellent introduction to environmental management for managers at all levels within any organisation. If you are unsure where to start, what environmental legislation might apply to your organisation, how to undertake an environmental audit and what to look for, or you need guidance on ISO 14001: 2004 and its implementation then this course will answer your questions.

IEMA APPROVED ADVANCED EMS AUDITOR COURSE (5 day) - Associate Training
 

Introduction to the Course:

This 5 day IEMA Approved course is delivered by ECUS training associates Marsden International. The course is designed to provide delegates with detailed information on how to undertake external certification audits of environmental management systems meeting the requirements of ISO 14001 or for EMS practitioners looking to better understand the certification process and / or undertake detailed internal audits of their own organisation's EMS.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Understanding impacts and aspects;
  • Environmental legislation
  • How to undertake an environmental audit;
  • Collecting audit evidence;
  • Documentation;
  • Auditing techniques;
  • ISO 19011;

ECUS GEOSCIENCE - Contaminated Land: Understanding Your Risks and Liabilities  

In response to popular demand from clients, ECUS Geoscience has introduced a half day seminar designed to provide essential information for those who own, develop or fund the development of contaminated land.

The course introduces:

  • Sources of risk and liability;
  • Planning permission and contaminated land;
  • Statutory liabilities;
  • Basic requirements for site investigation and risk assessment.

The aim is to enable delegates to make informed decisions when faced with a potential contamination issue and to understand when specialist input is required. 

The half day course is held in the training facilities at ECUS’ Head Office in Sheffield and is followed by lunch and an opportunity to network and discuss any related issues with the tutor.

The course costs £90.00 plus VAT including lunch
