Paul White

Strategy Director & Interim Practice Area Lead for the Historic Environment

Before being appointed to the Board in March 2022 as Strategy Director, Paul was Regional Director for the South East multi-disciplinary environmental team in Ecus and also had the national remit for leading the heritage team. In his current role as an executive director he works with the leadership team to drive the successful growth of the company in the medium and long-term by identifying opportunities and building alliances with client partners. He has a passion for shaping the business to be future-facing, with a key focus on helping staff to achieve their personal growth potential.

Paul is passionate about inter-disciplinary working, which for him is critical to solving challenging problems such as net zero and climate change. Collaborative working offers him the opportunity to take a new perspective on issues and this approach drives his enthusiasm for delivering sustainable development for our clients.

Given Paul’s 30 years of experience in providing heritage, landscape archaeology and archaeological services he is currently the interim Practice Area Lead for the Historic Environment. He regularly represents our clients on heritage issues such as the setting of listed buildings and conservation areas at planning appeals and provides robust heritage evidence as an expert witness for planning inquiries.
