As Head of Geophysics, Alex oversees the geophysical survey team’s national operations. This includes the day-to-day running of the team and project management, client liaison, logistics and planning, data processing and interpretation as well as technological innovation. The team’s key focus is providing cost-effective, efficient, and high-quality survey data for clients, so that they are best informed of the potential risks regarding their projects.
Alex’s career has centred on Archaeological and Environmental Geophysics, and its integration with Sustainable Urban Planning, Renewables and Environmental Impact Assessment. Prior to his role at Cura Terrae, Alex worked at several other leading archaeological and geophysical survey companies and has been involved with a wide range of projects across the UK. These have included major and nationally significant infrastructure works, solar, wind and nuclear power developments, small- and large-scale residential developments, as well as smaller, targeted investigations for community projects.
Alex is fascinated by how the geophysical survey data his team collect and analyse can be applied to better understand the setting and landscape surrounding sites of interest, as well as benefit communities at both a local and national level.
