Cura Terrae is in the exceptional position of being able to provide a contracting archaeological service as a leading element of its environmental consultancy. Andrew Crowson is currently our Head of Archaeology, based in Barnard Castle. He has responsibility for the commercial success and growth of the archaeological side of the business and for the safe-working of a team around 50-strong.
Andrew is a driven archaeologist who worked in senior roles, such as Operations Manager, Estimator and Head of Archaeology, for Northern Archaeological Associates before NAA became part of Cura Terrae in October 2021. He has 38 years’ professional experience behind him, including national infrastructure projects, utilities schemes and housing developments, and brings project planning, management, post-excavation and publication expertise to Cura Terrae. Andrew works with the regional archaeological offices, leads on complex quotations and provides quality assurance for quotes and products.
Andrew’s pragmatic approach is framed by a diverse working career, which has taken in local authorities, academic institutions, private businesses and included 12 remarkable years working on archaeological research projects in Albania. He is now a well-rounded, positive, solutions-driven manager whose ethos is to ensure impeccable advice and outstanding service is provided to all our clients. The professionalism and excellence among colleagues throughout the company disciplines means that Cura Terrae is the ideal environment for Andrew to maximise the potential of the company’s archaeological offer and to provide winning outcomes for clients.
