As Managing Director of Cura Terrae Land & Nature, Mark leads the Ecology & Natural Capital, Construction Site Services, Environmental Assessment & Consents, Green Infrastructure, Historic Environment, Marine & Coastal and Water & Engineering teams, driving the continued growth and development of the business across the UK and Ireland. His focus is on building integrated, multidisciplinary services that help clients respond to environmental challenges while delivering positive outcomes for nature and communities.

An ecologist by background, Mark holds a PhD in Conservation Biology and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, a Chartered Ecologist, and a Chartered Environmentalist. With almost 30 years of experience spanning academia, consultancy, and business leadership, he has held a number of senior roles across the environmental sector, including UK Head of Ecology and Head of UK Environmental Services at WSP, and most recently Managing Director of Environmental at Origin Enterprises.

Mark is passionate about developing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and helping clients navigate an increasingly complex environmental landscape. He is committed to strengthening Cura Terrae’s position as a leading environmental advisory business and supporting the delivery of innovative, sustainable solutions across the UK and Ireland.

Qualifications

  • PhD Conservation Biology, Keele University in conjunction with English Nature, Butterfly Conservation, de Vlinderstichting (Dutch Butterfly Conservation) and Staatsbosbeheer (Netherlands State Forestry Service), 1995.
  • BSc (Hons) Environmental Science, Coventry University 1989.
