Steve is our director responsible for our growing Environmental Assessment and Consenting team. He is an inspiring, practical, and supportive leader, with 34 years’ experience in environmental consultancy, specialising in multi-disciplinary project leadership, environmental assessment and coordination, consenting, and stakeholder engagement. He is a Chartered Environmentalist and has led the delivery of major schemes under the DCO (Development Consent Order), Hybrid Bill, Highways Act and Town and Country Planning regimes.
Steve has over twenty years’ experience delivering results, running a multimillion-pound turnover multi-disciplinary UK environment business. He relishes using his experience and expertise to benefit the team, the environment, and the community, empowering and supporting colleagues to develop and thrive while efficiently delivering client goals.
Steve excels at technical leadership and delivery of major projects. He held overall responsibility for all environmental services, including the Environmental Impact Assessment for the National Highways’ high profile £1.6bn A303 Stonehenge scheme. He led the environment, cultural heritage, engineering, and traffic delivery as the scheme successfully progressed through the DCO Examination stage. Steve was an environment expert witness for the A303 Stonehenge Scheme throughout the DCO Examination and has also been expert witness at the Public Inquiries for three other Highways schemes.
Steve was previously the Technical Manager responsible for the EIA for the West Midlands Metropolitan section of the High Speed Two Phase 1 Rail Project and supported HS2 as the scheme passed successfully through the parliamentary Hybrid Bill process, briefing Queen’s Counsel and HS2 witnesses and attending Select Committee.
