Andrew leads both the Environment Team (Arboriculture, Heritage & Archaeology, and Landscape), in Yorkshire and the East Midlands, and Ecus’s Archaeological team. He is responsible for overseeing the growth and development of the his teams, and working with our clients to ensure that the needs of their projects are met through this development of our services.
Andrew’s experience includes delivering preliminary phases of project work including PQQs, capability statements, tendering, construction phase plans and project designs, risk assessments, and method statements. He specialises in large-scale nationally significant infrastructure projects, consultancy, fieldwork management, and post-excavation management. Andrew has a proven track record in infrastructure and energy projects and on schemes across all types of sites; brownfield, greenfield and cemetery excavations.
Andrew’s previous role as Regional Director for Wessex Archaeology gave him responsibility for archaeological operations in the North of England and Wales, and he oversaw the growth of the business from a team of 15 to over 100 employees.
Before this, Andrew worked for Oxford Archaeology managing projects throughout the South of England, specialising in the excavation and publication of late Saxon and medieval urban sites, including the excavation of the site of Oxford Castle. Andrew’s other projects ranged from prehistoric settlement sites through to post-medieval cemeteries.
